About this website
Privacy
We do not collect personal data. There are no accounts, and nothing on this website or in the Lab asks for your name, email address or card.
Your progress stays on your device
The Lab saves your work and settings in your browser’s own storage, on this device, so you can carry on later. If you type a name into the app, that stays there too. None of it is sent to us, and we cannot see it.
The Lab suggests what to practise next from your own results. That is worked out in your browser, from what is saved there, and nothing about it leaves your device.
To delete it, open the Lab’s Menu and choose Delete my work on this device. You can also delete this website’s data in your browser: open your browser’s settings, find privacy or site data, and clear the cookies and site data for this website. A private or incognito window keeps nothing once you close it.
Emails
If you email us, we see your email address and what you write, and use them only to read your message and reply. Please do not add other personal details.
Links you share
A teacher can copy a link to a practical, and anyone can copy a link to a paper they have built. The link holds only the practical, or the paper and its settings. It never holds a name, an answer, a mark or anything from your progress. Nothing is posted anywhere: you choose who to send it to, and it opens on their own device.
Cookies and tracking
We use no cookies for tracking, and no analytics, adverts or tracking of any kind, so there is no cookie banner. Fonts, images and scripts are all served from this website. The only storage is the browser storage that keeps your work, described above.
Read aloud
Read-aloud is switched off at present, so nothing is played or spoken.
Hosting
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses. We do not use it to identify anyone.
Children
Study Hack is made for GCSE students, so it follows the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children’s Code). It asks for no personal details, and has no accounts, no adverts and no tracking. Nothing you do is sent to us or shared with anyone. There is no chat, no public profile, no location and nothing that nudges you to give information away. Share links carry no personal information (see above), and you can delete everything the Lab has saved from its Menu. How we checked this is set out in our data protection impact assessment.
Links to other websites
Links to our Tes shop open the Tes website, which has its own privacy policy and terms.
