About this website
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use Study Hack, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or high-contrast settings.
What we aim for
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA.
- Pages work at 400% zoom and on a phone without sideways scrolling.
- Light and dark themes follow your device’s setting, and motion is reduced when you ask for less.
- Graphs and tables have text alternatives; every form field has a label.
Where we are now
Our page tests check one main heading per page, labelled inputs, alternative text and working links. Every kind of page is also checked in a browser with axe at phone, tablet and desktop widths, in light and dark. A full manual audit with screen readers has not been done yet and will be before the website opens to the public.
Known limits
- The 3D bench needs a browser with WebGL. If a device cannot run it, the lab opens a simple version instead, with the same readings.
- Some dragging actions on the 3D bench have keyboard alternatives that are still being added; the 2D close-ups can be used with the keyboard.
- You can choose the simple version yourself in a practical’s Run details menu, for example on a slow device.
Tell us
If anything on Study Hack is hard to use with your setup, please email [email protected]. Say which page and what you use (a screen reader, keyboard only, zoom), and we will fix it or tell you how to get round it.
